Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment Ltd in Burnley is seeking a Special Needs Secondary Teacher to join an independent school that supports pupils with complex SEMH needs aged 5 to 18. You will plan and deliver adapted KS3 and KS4 lessons in small classes, promote positive behaviour, and build trusting relationships with pupils.

The role is full-time, term-time only, starting ASAP. This temp-to-perm position offers competitive daily rates (£180–£250) and ongoing CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Experience teaching KS3 and KS4.
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach adapted lessons for small KS3 and KS4 classes.
• Promote positive behaviour and follow pupil support plans.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Report pupil progress and any concerns.
• Supervise pupils at breaks and on trips.
