Job summary

Teach Now Limited is recruiting a Maths Intervention Teacher for a Watford-based secondary academy to support KS3 and GCSE students with targeted sessions that address learning gaps and make mathematical concepts accessible. You will break challenging topics into manageable steps, using practical examples to strengthen understanding and help students approach unfamiliar questions.

The role requires Qualified Teacher Status and strong knowledge of KS3/GCSE Maths; previous small-group intervention

Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status and secondary Maths teaching experience.
Strong knowledge of KS3 and GCSE Mathematics.
Previous small-group teaching experience or relevant intervention work.
Ability to identify misconceptions and adapt explanations.
Engaging approach that builds confidence and participation.
Strong communication, adaptability and safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

Deliver targeted interventions aligned with classroom teaching.
Strengthen numeracy, algebra, fractions, percentages, geometry and problem-solving skills.
Identify learning gaps and plan focused sessions.
Support GCSE revision and examination technique where required.
Use practical, interactive approaches to engage reluctant learners.
Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
Collaborate with the Maths department to support consistent learning.
