Job summary

Teach Now Limited in Watford seeks a Maths Intervention Specialist Teacher to deliver targeted support to KS3/GCSE pupils in small groups.

You will plan and assess progress, ensuring clear steps and high expectations in a term-time, five-day week, 08:30–15:30. The role offers competitive pay on the London Fringe scale and safeguarding compliance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status and strong mathematics knowledge relevant to secondary-level intervention.
• Experience teaching KS3 and/or GCSE maths in a school setting.
• Experience assessing understanding and addressing gaps.
• Ability to plan and deliver small-group teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver targeted maths interventions for groups of up to four pupils.
• Strengthen KS3 and GCSE pupils’ understanding and prepare for further study.
• Assess prior knowledge and shape future sessions.
• Explain concepts through manageable steps and purposeful practice.
• Monitor progress and adapt activities to individual needs.
• Build pupils' confidence while maintaining high expectations.
