Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a KS2 Teaching Assistant in Blackburn to join a friendly, welcoming primary school on a full-time basis.

You will support Year 3 in the mornings and deliver targeted intervention groups in the afternoons to boost literacy and numeracy progress, with ongoing support from a dedicated consultant and potential for a longer-term contract. Experience in a primary school and a Level 2 or 3 TA qualification are desirable attributes; DBS checks will be arranged as part

Qualifications

• Has previous experience working within a primary school setting.
• Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable).
• Has experience supporting children within Key Stage 2.
• Is confident delivering intervention sessions and supporting pupil progress.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Is caring, proactive, and committed to helping children succeed.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 3 classroom each morning.
• Working closely with the class teacher to engage and motivate pupils.
• Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions in the afternoons, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and targeted learning outcomes.
• Providing additional support to pupils who may require extra encouragement or guidance.
• Monitoring and recording pupil progress.
• Creating a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
