Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a KS2 Teaching Assistant for a full-time role in Twickenham, starting September. The role involves supporting pupils across Key Stage 2, assisting teachers, and helping with planning and resources to ensure smooth lessons.

You will work closely with class teachers to boost learning, confidence and engagement, while upholding safeguarding and school policies. Prior primary experience is desirable and strong communication is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils individually or in small groups to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals
  • Promote independence, confidence and engagement across KS2
  • Assist teachers in maintaining a positive and safe learning environment and managing behaviour effectively
  • Prepare classrooms and resources for lessons, supporting smooth delivery and engagement
  • Observe pupil performance and share progress and concerns with class teachers
  • Support pupils during assessment sessions as required
  • Accompany pupils on educational visits and contribute to enrichment activities
  • Use ICT and other resources to enhance pupils' learning experiences
  • Collaborate with teachers, colleagues and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support for pupils
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour management and child protection

KS2 Teaching Assistant

Full-time Position | September Start

Location: Twickenham, South West London

Salary: £90-£100 per day, dependent on experience

About the Role

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning, confidence and progress across Key Stage 2. You will provide individual and group support to help children access the curriculum, build their independence and stay engaged in lessons. You will also assist in planning, preparation and resource management to ensure lessons run smoothly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
