Job summary

The Graduate Network is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for KS2 support at an Outstanding primary school in Birmingham, from September 2026 to July 2027. You will help pupils with reading, SPaG and Maths, and support exam preparation ahead of the May 2027 SATs.

The role involves 1:1 support and small-group intervention, working closely with the class teacher to build confidence and progress toward your future teacher-training goals.

Qualifications

• Degree – a 2:2 or above in a creative subject.
• Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Desire to train as a teacher and build a long-term career in education.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with KS2 pupils through classroom support, 1:1 help and small-group intervention in the lead-up to SATs.
• Help children strengthen reading, SPaG and Maths, reinforce learning from lessons, and prepare revision resources.
• Support the class teacher in building confidence ahead of the May 2027 assessments.
