The Graduate Network is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for KS2 support at an Outstanding primary school in Birmingham, from September 2026 to July 2027. You will help pupils with reading, SPaG and Maths, and support exam preparation ahead of the May 2027 SATs.
The role involves 1:1 support and small-group intervention, working closely with the class teacher to build confidence and progress toward your future teacher-training goals.
Could you help KS2 pupils feel more prepared and less anxious before SATs? Are you looking for a classroom role that gives you valuable upper primary experience before moving into teacher training?
Work closely with KS2 pupils through a combination of classroom support, 1:1 help, and small-group intervention in the lead-up to SATs. You will help children strengthen reading, SPaG, and Maths, reinforce learning from lessons, prepare simple revision resources, and support the class teacher in building confidence ahead of the May 2027 assessments.
You are organised, encouraging, and able to explain things clearly to older primary pupils. You want meaningful school-based experience, enjoy helping children improve in core subjects, and are keen to build the practical classroom skills needed for a future in teaching.
This ‘Outstanding’ primary school in the Ward of Yardley offers the chance to build excellent KS2 experience in a setting where high standards, strong routines, and targeted support matter. You will work closely with experienced staff in a role that gives you direct exposure to upper primary classroom practice, intervention work, and the strategies schools use to help pupils prepare confidently for statutory assessment.
