Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting an experienced Upper KS2 Teacher for long-term opportunities starting September 2026 in Manchester. You will lead Year 5 or Year 6 classes, plan and deliver engaging lessons, and prepare pupils for SATs while tracking progress with targeted assessments.

The ideal candidate holds QTS, has strong KS2 curriculum knowledge, and demonstrates excellent classroom management and the ability to support pupils’ independence as they transition to secondary education.

Qualifications

  • QTS is required.
  • Experience teaching Upper KS2 (Year 5/6) in UK primary schools.
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 National Curriculum.
  • Experience with SATs preparation and assessment.
  • Proven classroom management and high expectations for pupil progress.
  • Ability to foster independent learning and transitions to secondary education.

Are you an experienced Primary Teacher who thrives in Upper KS2?

Aspire People are currently recruiting teachers with strong KS2 experience for long-term opportunities from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys preparing pupils for the next stage of their education, has strong curriculum knowledge, and is confident supporting pupils as they become increasingly independent learners.

Previous experience with SATs preparation, assessment and upper-KS2 expectations would be highly advantageous.

The Role
  • Taking responsibility for a Year 5 or Year 6 class
  • Planning and delivering engaging, challenging lessons
  • Preparing pupils for SATs where appropriate
  • Using assessment to identify and address gaps in learning
  • Differentiating lessons effectively
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and attainment

We're Looking For
  • QTS and recent UK primary teaching experience
  • Strong Year 5 and/or Year 6 experience
