Job summary

Lancashire County Council on behalf of Our Lady and St Gerard's RC Primary School, Lostock Hall, Preston, is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant Level 2 to support KS2 pupils. You will assist with reading, writing and maths under the guidance of the class teacher, helping pupils develop confidence and independence.

The role includes lunchtime supervision and outdoor play, with a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion within a supportive team at the school.

Qualifications

• Good standard of English and mathematics; able to support pupils' learning in both areas.
• Experience in KS2 or primary classroom helpful.
• Ability to explain concepts clearly and ask effective questions.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals and groups of pupils with structured learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
• Assist with reading, writing and mathematics to raise attainment and confidence.
• Provide lunchtime supervision and support outdoor play.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment and positive pupil behaviour.
