Job summary

St Matthew’s Primary and Nursery Academy in Derriford is seeking an experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant and a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. This fixed-term role runs until 31 August 2027, with 22.5 hours for the TA and 5 hours for the HLTA per week, term-time only (39 weeks per year). Salary details accompany each grade and a pro-rata annual leave arrangement applies.

Responsibilities

• Provide vital classroom support and contribute to an engaging learning environment.

• Support teachers in delivering outstanding lessons and ensuring positive outcomes.
• HLTA duties include whole class PPA cover across the school.
• Assist in maintaining a happy, safe playground during breaks.
