Job summary

GSL Education Leicester is seeking Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Leicestershire primary schools. Roles cover Years 3–6, with both full-time and part-time opportunities in long-term and temporary placements.

Responsibilities include supporting learners academically, socially and emotionally, delivering literacy and numeracy interventions, and assisting teachers with lessons. A safeguarding focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, youth work, or similar setting.
• Confidently support learning within a classroom environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, enthusiastic, and approachable.
• Positive and proactive attitude.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils in Years 3 to 6 on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Delivering literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
• Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
• Supporting children with additional learning needs where required.
• Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their targets.
