Job summary

GSL Education in Leicestershire is seeking a passionate Secondary Teaching Assistant to support students across the curriculum. Immediate start for a long-term role within an Ofsted-rated 'Good' school.

You’ll provide 1:1 and small group support, implement tailored learning strategies, and collaborate with teachers and SENCO to assist students with additional needs. A proactive, patient approach will help monitor progress and foster a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary school students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, empathetic and proactive approach to supporting students.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
• SEN experience is a plus, but not essential.
• Ideal for university graduates or those considering a career in education.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students in a classroom setting.
• Assist in implementing tailored learning strategies and interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to support students with additional needs.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Support classroom management and contribute to lesson preparation.
• Encourage student participation and foster a love for learning.
