Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a popular and highly regarded Catholic primary school in St Helens to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from December2026.
The successful candidate will provide classroom support across Key Stage 2, working closely with class teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential while contributing to the wider life of the school.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom
- Delivering targeted interventions for small groups and individual pupils
- Assisting children with literacy, numeracy and reading development
- Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence and independence
- Supporting children with varying learning needs and abilities
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and parents where required
- Preparing learning resources and maintaining an organised learning environment
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
We are looking for someone who:
- Has recent experience working within a primary school setting
- Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
- Has experience supporting pupils in KS2
- Builds strong relationships with children and colleagues
- Is proactive, enthusiastic and committed to helping pupils succeed
- Demonstrates patience, adaptability and excellent communication skills
- Can commit to a full-time, long-term position
