Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a welcoming KS2-focused role at a Catholic primary school in St Helens. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning, work with pupils in small groups, and help with literacy, numeracy and reading development from December 2026.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with a temporary-to-permanent contract and opportunities for ongoing CPD and school-based training.

Qualifications

• Has recent experience working in a primary school setting.
• Desirable Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience supporting KS2 pupils and literacy/numeracy development.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within the classroom.
• Deliver targeted interventions for small groups and individuals.
• Assist pupils with literacy, numeracy and reading development.
