Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of Nields Academy. Start – As soon as possible.

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for KS2 with some SEN responsibility, to work under the instruction and guidance of teaching/senior staff, undertaking work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the Teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. You may be asked to support children who have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).

Qualifications

• Good understanding of Maths and English taught at Year 5 and 6 level.
• Ability to support pupils, including those with EHCP plans, in learning and care activities.

Responsibilities

• Work under the instruction and guidance of teaching staff to enable access to learning.
• Assist with work/care/support programmes and manage small groups or individuals.
• Support with intimate care needs when required and contribute to classroom management.
