Job summary

Envision Education is seeking a SEND Cover Teacher to join a High Wycombe school from October. The role involves supporting a KS2 class of 10 pupils with ASD and various communication needs, delivering differentiated lessons aligned to EHCPs, and collaborating with Teaching Assistants to maintain a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have QTS, strong SEND experience, and be comfortable working with verbal and non-verbal learners.

Qualifications

  • Confidence supporting both verbal and non-verbal learners.
  • Experience using visual supports and alternative communication strategies.
  • A patient, calm and adaptable approach.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Use appropriate SEND strategies, including visual supports and alternative communication methods.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff to provide consistent, high-quality support.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Create a safe, structured, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and communication development.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals, including therapists and SENCOs, where required.
  • Promote the wellbeing, safeguarding and inclusion of all pupils.

SEND Cover Teacher - High Wycombe | October Start

Full-Time | Monday to Friday (8:30 - 15:30) | KS2 | October Start

Are you a passionate and experienced SEND teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEND Cover Teacher to join a supportive school in High Wycombe from October.

The successful candidate will be supporting a KS2 class of 10 pupils, made up of both girls and boys. The class includes verbal and non-verbal learners, with a range of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The class is described as a supportive and manageable setting, with behaviour that is not considered highly complex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND teacher to make a real difference while working alongside a strong team of Teaching Assistants and support staff.

QTS is required; however, the school is also happy to consider candidates with extensive and highly relevant SEND experience on a case-by-case basis.

The Role

As a SEND Cover Teacher, you will:
