Job summary

Envision Education in Enfield is seeking a SEND Support Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school on a full-time basis. You will provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs, working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning programs.

The role emphasises creating a safe, nurturing classroom, encouraging pupil independence and positive social interactions, with opportunities to grow within a supportive education team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months' experience working with children or young people in the UK.
• Previous experience as SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker or Care Assistant.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, resilient and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service desirable (we can assist).

About the Role

As a SEND Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils achieve their full potential by providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties and communication needs.
• Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and active participation throughout the school day.
• Supporting pupils with learning activities, personal development and positive social interactions.
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver personalised learning programmes.
• Helping to create and maintain a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families to support each child's development.

What we're looking for

You will have:

• A minimum of 3 months' experience working with children or young people in the UK (essential).
• Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker or Care Assistant (highly desirable).

• A positive, resilient and proactive attitude.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team while using your own initiative.

An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (desirable), although we can assist you in obtaining one
