Job summary

Edith Cavell Primary School in London is seeking a motivated teaching assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs in KS2, alongside general classroom duties and light administrative tasks.

You will work closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to help pupils access the curriculum, develop independence and maintain positive, supportive relationships.

The role requires empathy, adaptability and a willingness to undertake appropriate training to enhance pupil outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN to access the curriculum under teacher direction.
• Build positive relationships and support emotional wellbeing.
• Identify pupil needs and adapt activities to meet them.
• Promote independence, confidence and self-reliance.
• Prepare resources and support curriculum adaptations.
• Assist with learning activities and classroom displays.
• Collaborate with the SENCO and staff on reviews.
