Job summary

Education Authority in Downpatrick is seeking a dedicated Primary School Teacher to join our Key Stage 2 team. This permanent, full-time post focuses on delivering engaging lessons at Downpatrick Primary School and supporting pupils’ learning in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will plan and assess pupil progress, work with parents, and contribute to school development with adherence to NI curriculum and safeguarding policies.

Qualifications

• Hold a teaching qualification that meets the requirements for recognition to teach in grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland.
• Minimum of 1 year's demonstrable experience of teaching a mainstream class at Key Stage 2.
• Be registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI) before taking up post.

Responsibilities

• Planning and preparing courses and lessons.
• Teaching pupils according to their educational needs, including setting and marking tasks.
• Assessing, recording and reporting on pupil progress and attainment.
• Promoting pupils' general welfare, guidance on education and careers, and liaising with parents.
