Job summary

Sunnyside Academy is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Band 7) to work within the Key Stage 2 phase, supporting teaching and learning, leading interventions and covering classes as needed. The post is 37 hours per week, term time only including PD days (195 days).

Working pattern is Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 4.30pm, Friday 8.30am – 4pm; permanent appointment. Applicants will possess NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and demonstrate excellent communication and IT skills, ability to follow

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and IT skills in order to support pupils and colleagues.
• Ability to follow teachers’ plans and take initiative in a busy classroom.

Responsibilities

• Lead on provision of support to teachers and school, including covering classes.
• Support pupils with behavioural/emotional needs and lead interventions.
• Work with teachers within the KS2 phase to strengthen teaching and learning.
