Job summary

Humly North East is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming KS1 setting in Darlington. You will support pupils with their learning, assist the class teacher with engaging activities, and help maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

This role is full-time, with an ASAP start through Easter, at a mainstream primary school. Ideal candidates will have prior experience working with children and a confident approach to behaviour management, along with reliability,

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children is essential.
• No formal qualifications are required.
• Confident and effective at managing challenging behaviour.
• Patient, resilient and approachable.
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about education.
• Able to use initiative and work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support KS1 pupils with learning and development.
• Work with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and activities.
• Provide additional support to pupils who may need extra guidance.
• Manage and promote positive behaviour within the classroom.
• Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and educational development.
