Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. are looking for a passionate Key Stage 1 Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Newcastle primary school. The role involves supporting the class teacher, aiding pupil progress, and creating a positive classroom environment.

The successful candidate will assist with inclusive teaching, adapt support for SEND or speech and language needs, and help monitor pupil progress. DBS checks are required or the willingness to obtain one; positions offer flexible, long-term

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in an educational setting.
• Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 1.
• Good understanding of the national primary curriculum.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Knowledge of adaptive support for pupils with SEND or speech and language needs.
• Assist with managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive attitudes to learning.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
• Help monitor and record pupil progress and achievements.
