Job summary

Redhill Primary School, part of Shaw Education Trust, is seeking a Grade 4 Teaching Assistant to support KS1 pupils with reading, writing, and early numeracy. You will deliver Read Write Inc.

phonics sessions in small groups and one-to-one settings, tracking progress and tailoring support to individual needs. The role requires a proactive, patient approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well with teachers to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering Read Write Inc. phonics.
• Experience supporting KS1 children with varying learning needs.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; proactive and patient.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Read Write Inc. phonics sessions in small groups and one-to-one settings.
• Provide tailored support to KS1 pupils to raise attainment in reading, writing and early numeracy.
• Collaborate with class teachers to create inclusive and engaging learning environments.
• Track pupil progress and adapt support strategies accordingly.
• Foster a positive, nurturing atmosphere that promotes resilience and a love of learning.
