A Led by Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Torquay, this Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant role supports early learners in a full‑time, temporary-to-permanent capacity beginning September 2026. You will work with class teachers to foster confidence, independence and essential KS1 skills in a caring primary setting.

The ideal candidate is patient, proactive, and collaborative, with KS1 experience and a commitment to safeguarding pupil welfare.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or KS1 support staff.
• Understanding of KS1 curriculum and phonics.
• Patient, caring and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to start temporarily with permanent potential.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across Key Stage 1 in lessons and activities.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities.
• Support social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, well‑managed classroom.
• Observe and feedback on pupil progress to teachers.
• Uphold safeguarding and health and safety responsibilities.
