Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant – Full‑time, temporary to permanent from September 2026

This Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant role offers a full‑time, temporary to permanent opportunity starting in September 2026. The Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers to support pupils in their early learning, helping them develop confidence, independence, and essential skills. This role is ideal for a caring and proactive Teaching Assistant seeking long‑term progression within a supportive primary setting.

Duties as Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant:
  • Support pupils across Key Stage 1 in lessons and daily classroom activities
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
  • Assist with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment
  • Support classroom routines, transitions, and organisation
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Observe and feedback on pupil progress to teaching staff
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
  • Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant:
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in Key Stage 1
  • Understanding of early childhood development and KS1 curriculum
  • Patient, caring, and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
