Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking a dedicated Year 1/2 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in the TS7 area on a full-time basis. The role offers a competitive daily rate and October 2026 start date, with opportunities to inspire pupils in Year 1 and Year 2.

You will plan engaging lessons, assess progress, and collaborate with teaching assistants to deliver high-quality learning across the Key Stage 1 curriculum.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 1, Year 1 or Year 2 is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 primary curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Year 1/2 lessons.
  • Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly.

About the Role

Vision for Education are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1/2 Teacher to work on a full-time basis within a welcoming primary school in the TS7 area.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate teacher to join a supportive school team and provide high-quality teaching and learning for pupils in Year 1 and Year 2. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, creative, and age-appropriate lessons that challenge and inspire pupils, while supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

The successful candidate will work closely with the wider school team to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive lessons for a Year 1/2 class.
  • Ensure lessons meet the needs of pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
  • Develop pupils' skills across the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Support pupils' development in early reading, writing, mathematics, and wider curriculum subjects.
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to become confident and independent learners.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider school staff.
  • Maintain high expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour, and personal development.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and parents where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and support school policies and procedures.
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within a primary school setting.
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 1, particularly Year 1 or Year 2, is desirable.
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 primary curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A caring, patient, flexible, and proactive approach.
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
