  • Using assessment to monitor progress and identify areas for further support.
  • Adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils with different abilities and learning styles.
  • Establishing clear classroom routines and maintaining positive behaviour.
  • Creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and other year group colleagues.
  • Building positive relationships with parents and carers.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has recent experience teaching in a UK primary school, ideally within KS1.

  • Is confident delivering phonics and early reading sessions.
  • Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management.
  • Can plan effectively and adapt teaching to support all learners.
  • Is reliable, organised and committed to maintaining continuity of learning throughout the maternity cover.
  • ECTs with relevant KS1 experience are welcome to apply.
The School and Opportunity
  • Welcoming primary school in West Drayton.
  • Full-time KS1 teaching position.
  • January 2027 start.
  • Long-term maternity cover.
  • Outer London pay scale, MPS to UPS depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to join an established teaching team and contribute to pupils' progress throughout the academic year.

All applicants will be subject to appropriate identity, right-to-work, qualification, reference and enhanced DBS checks, in line with safeguarding requirements.
