Job summary

Woodlands Primary School & Nursery in Madeley, Telford, is seeking a proactive KS1 SEN Pupil Support Assistant to join our dedicated team on a 32.5 hour‑per‑week contract, term‑time only, until 31 August 2027. The role supports pupils with SEN and helps deliver a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Experience in KS1 and SEN is essential; training on Read Write Inc. is beneficial, and a positive attitude with a commitment to child welfare is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs is essential.
• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
• GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences.
• Work with small groups and individual pupils to boost attainment in English and Mathematics.
• Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of targeted intervention programmes (SEMH).
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and inclusion.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including visits, events and enrichment activities.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil progress reviews.
