Job summary

Woodlands Primary School & Nursery invites a dedicated Key Stage 1 SEN Pupil Support Assistant to join our team. The role is 32.5 hours per week, term-time only, temporary to 31 August 2027, with a salary of £19,995 per annum.

You will work with class teachers to support pupils with SEN, assist with targeted interventions, and help maintain progress records while promoting an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs is essential.
• Experience delivering Read Write Inc. or similar phonics programmes would be beneficial.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences.
• Work with small groups and individual pupils to boost attainment, especially in English and Maths.
• Assist with planning, preparation and delivery of targeted intervention programmes around SEMH.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and inclusion.
• Maintain records and contribute to pupil progress reviews.
