Job summary

Desian Education is recruiting for a KS1 PPA Teacher in Southport. This role offers both Part Time and Full Time options, starting immediately and lasting long-term. The successful candidate will cover PPA across KS1, supporting planning, assessment, and ensuring continuity of learning.

You’ll work across KS1 classes, building strong relationships with pupils and staff. Ideal candidates will have KS1 teaching experience, a solid understanding of the National Curriculum, and excellent classroom

Qualifications

Desian Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in Southport for a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 PPA Teacher. This is a full-time, long-term position offering the opportunity to become an integral part of the school community and make a lasting impact on pupils' learning and development.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality PPA cover across Key Stage 1, ensuring continuity of learning while supporting teachers with their allocated planning, preparation, and assessment time. This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of KS1 classes, building positive relationships with pupils and staff while delivering engaging and effective lessons.

The Role

• Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across KS1 classes during PPA cover
• Ensure continuity of learning and maintain high expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Adapt confidently to teaching different year groups within KS1
• Follow school planning and policies to ensure consistency across classes
• Monitor pupil engagement and provide appropriate support and challenge
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to achieve the best outcomes for pupils
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community

The Ideal Candidate

• Has a Full Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
• Experience teaching within KS1
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching practices
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Able to confidently teach across different KS1 year groups
• Passionate about raising attainment and supporting children's development
• Reliable, professional, and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• M1-M6: £120 - £232 per day, depending on experience and pay scale
