Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils in KS1 and KS2 at a Bacup school. The role is full-time, 8:30am–3:30pm, long-term with potential continuation into the next academic year.

You will work closely with teachers, assist pupils individually and in class, support learners with SEND and behavioural needs, and help pupils engage with learning in a welcoming, safeguarding-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant childcare/children's qualification.
• Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar school-based role.
• Have experience supporting children with SEND and behavioural needs.
• Be confident managing and supporting a range of needs and abilities.
• Be comfortable working across KS1 and KS2.
• Have a patient, nurturing and positive approach.
• Be reliable, adaptable and committed to supporting children's learning and development.
• Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• General Teaching Assistant responsibilities, supporting pupils individually and within the classroom.
• Working across KS1 and KS2 where required.
• Supporting pupils with SEND and behavioural needs.
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff to help pupils make progress and engage positively with learning.
