Job summary

Hastings Hotels invites applications for a Kitchen Steward at the exclusive Everglades Hotel in Hastings. Under the guidance of our Head Chef, you will join a friendly kitchen team, keeping all areas clean and adhering to high hygiene standards to ensure smooth service.

Shifts typically run 7am–3pm and 3pm–11pm with some weekend hours. Training is provided; benefits include staff meals, employee discounts, and opportunities for progression within Hastings Hotels.

Qualifications

• Good command of English; right to work in the UK.
• No prior kitchen experience required – full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Keep all kitchen areas clean and presentable to Hastings Standard of Cleanliness and Hygiene.
• Wash dishes, pots and pans; load/unload dishwasher; empty and clean bins.
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing areas, walls, fridges and floors.
• Handle stock securely and report breaches or issues immediately.
• Work with colleagues to ensure a respectful, harmonious team environment.
• Comply with health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
• Perform any other duties as required by management.

Under the leadership of our Inspiring Head Chef, Raymond Callaghan, you will have the opportunity to work with our friendly team, develop your skills and enjoy the variety offered by a role in hospitality.

The rate of pay ranges from £9.55- £12.75ph depending on age.

About the role

To ensure that all Kitchen areas and equipment are cleaned and presented to the Hastings Standard of Cleanliness and Hygiene.

• To keep all kitchen areas clean. Typical tasks include washing dishes, pots, pans, loading and unloading the dish washer, emptying, and cleaning bins.

• Maintaining the cleanliness of dishwashing areas including walls, fridges, and mopping floors.

• To ensure all equipment and materials are used in the correct manner and any problems are reported immediately.

• To always maintain the security of stock areas at all times, immediately reporting any breaches and dealing.

• To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.

• To comply with all health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.

• Any other duties as required by management.

About You

We would love you to have some similar previous experience, but this is not essential as our Kitchen Team will provide you with full training.
