Job summary

Maldron Hotel Liverpool, part of Dalata Hotel Group, invites applications for a Kitchen Porter to support the head chef and the wider kitchen team in the heart of the city centre.

You will help maintain clean crockery, utensils and storage areas, follow HACCP standards, and contribute to a busy, friendly work environment while training through the Dalata Academy to develop your skills and career with us.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a kitchen or similar fast-paced environment is desirable.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good attention to detail and a strong focus on cleanliness and hygiene.
• The ability to work efficiently as part of a team and use your own initiative.
• Good time-management and organisational skills.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
• The ability to carry out the physical aspects of the role, including standing for extended periods and safely moving kitchen equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team with the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Maintain a consistent supply of clean crockery, cookware, equipment and kitchen utensils throughout service.
• Keep the kitchen, pot-wash, storage and back-of-house areas clean, organised and safe, completing daily cleaning duties and scheduled deep-cleaning tasks to the required standard.
• Follow cleaning schedules and ensure tasks are completed to the required standard.
• Assist with deliveries, stock storage, waste disposal and general kitchen duties when required.
• Work alongside the chef team to maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Support the team during busy periods and help create a positive, efficient working environment.
