Dalata Hotel Group’s Maldron Hotel Liverpool is recruiting a Kitchen Porter to join the busy kitchen team in Liverpool city centre. You will be trained via the Dalata Academy and work with experienced colleagues to develop essential kitchen skills and progress within the company.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen or fast-paced environment is desirable, training will be provided.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Attention to detail and hygiene focus.
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support head chef and kitchen team with day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Maintain supply of clean crockery, cookware, equipment and utensils.
• Keep areas clean, organised and safe; complete daily cleaning and deep-clean tasks.
• Follow cleaning schedules and ensure tasks meet required standards.
• Assist with deliveries, stock storage, waste disposal and general kitchen duties.
• Work with the team to maintain food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Support during busy periods and help create a positive, efficient working environment.

Your Job:

• Support the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team with the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Maintain a consistent supply of clean crockery, cookware, equipment and kitchen utensils throughout service.
• Keep the kitchen, pot-wash, storage and back-of-house areas clean, organised and safe, completing daily cleaning duties and scheduled deep-cleaning tasks to the required standard.
• Follow cleaning schedules and ensure tasks are completed to the required standard.
• Assist with deliveries, stock storage, waste disposal and general kitchen duties when required.
• Work alongside the chef team to maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Support the team during busy periods and help create a positive, efficient working environment.

What You’ll Need:

• Previous experience working in a kitchen or similar fast-paced environment is desirable, but full training will be provided.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good attention to detail and a strong focus on cleanliness and hygiene.
• The ability to work efficiently as part of a team and use your own initiative.
• Good time-management and organisational skills.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
• The ability to carry out the physical aspects of the role, including standing for extended periods and safely moving kitchen equipment and supplies.
