Job summary

BaxterStorey in Leeds is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support a busy kitchen. You will wash dishes, keep surfaces clean, help with basic food preparation, and assist with inventory.

Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. Flexible shifts apply; no formal education is required, and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• No formal education is required, but a high school diploma or equivalent may be preferred.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible with shift times.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and Safety – Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order

• A team player with a positive attitude
• Able to follow processes and work efficiently in a busy environment

• Competitive hourly rate of up to £12.99
• 35 hours per week (full‑time) or 20 hours per week (part‑time), Monday to Sunday
