Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Kitchen Porter to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment and support daily operations in our kitchen teams. You will assist with stock, cleaning, and basic food prep, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

  • Clean and sanitize surfaces, floors and walls.
  • Empty and clean waste bins.
  • Organise and store cleaning supplies.
  • Assist unloading deliveries as needed.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Report faulty equipment to supervisor.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
  • Maintain clean changing area and staff facilities.
  • Support kitchen staff during busy periods.

Job description

As a Kitchen Porter, your responsibilities will include: 1. Maintain daily hygiene standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas 2. Control and put away daily stock deliveries 3. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment 4. Assist in basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef 5. Clean and sanitise work surfaces, floors, and walls 6. Empty and clean waste bins 7. Organise and store cleaning supplies 8. Assist with unloading delivery vehicles when necessary 9. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations 10. Report any faulty equipment or maintenance issues to the supervisor 11. Assist in inventory management and stock rotation 12. Maintain a clean and tidy changing area and staff facilities 13.
