Job summary

BaxterStorey in Sheffield is seeking a Kitchen Porter to keep the kitchen running smoothly. You will wash dishes, maintain cleanliness, and support inventory and waste management in a fast-paced environment.

We offer 28 days holiday, birthday off, pension and life insurance, and wellbeing and development opportunities. This is a part-time role with 15 hours per week at £13.45 per hour, with on-site working and a warm, inclusive team.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift objects.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong teamwork and communication with the kitchen team.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers.
• Kitchen cleanliness – Clean and sanitise surfaces and food prep areas; manage waste properly.
• Inventory management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising supplies and ingredients.
• Health and safety – Maintain cleanliness and ensure equipment is in good working order.

Job Description

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order

Qualifications

• No formal education is required.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
