Job summary

Phyllis Court Club in Henley-on-Thames is seeking a Kitchen Porter on a permanent contract, working 40 hours per week with mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You will ensure all kitchen areas, utensils and equipment are clean, sanitised and ready to use under the Head Chef’s guidance.

Reporting lines include the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chefs. The role offers a range of club benefits, a pension, and attendance at Henley Royal Regatta events.

Qualifications

• Eye for detail and high cleanliness standards.
• Willing to work across kitchen areas and have a good all-round knowledge of a kitchen.
• Clear communication skills.
• Organised and able to work under pressure.
• Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Clean all dishes, floors and equipment as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• All surfaces to be kept neat and tidy to minimize any potential safety issues
• Clean and operate the dish machine in a safe and cleanly manner, keeping good hygiene practices to the fore.
• Be aware of Health and Safety at Work and Hygiene regulations and report any irregularities to the Head Chef, Senior Sous Chefs or the Head of Operations.
• Practice good personnel hygiene at all times to comply with the Club’s policies.

Phyllis Court is a private members club situated in a grand riverside manor, set in 18 acres of land with 17 guest bedrooms on the River Thames in Henley-On-Thames and spectacular views over the river & the countryside beyond.

Phyllis Court has excellent facilities, superb cuisines and wines, relaxing riverside accommodation and friendly staff being the perfect setting to meet friends & colleagues, with the highlight of the year being Henley Regatta.

The Role
