Job summary

The Ivy Collection in Glasgow is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team. You will help maintain cleanliness, support with basic prep, and contribute to efficient kitchen operations.

No previous experience is required, though experience in a kitchen environment is preferred. The role offers hourly pay with Tronc, a minimum 20 hours per week, and opportunities for development within our renowned dining group.

Qualifications

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans and other kitchenware.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and storing supplies.
• Empty rubbish bins and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks.
• Maintain stock of cleaning chemicals and sanitizers.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our kitchen team as a Kitchen Porter. The Kitchen Porter will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, assisting with basic food preparation tasks, and supporting the overall efficiency of kitchen operations.

Responsibilities:

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and storing supplies in designated areas.
• Empty rubbish bins and dispose of waste in designated waste areas.
• Support kitchen staff by performing basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients.
• Ensure chemicals and cleaning equipment are continuously stocked, i.e. blue roll & sanitizer.

Requirements:

• No previous experience is required, although experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Good level of Health & Safety knowledge.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
