Job summary

Away Resorts is seeking a kitchen porter for Sandy Balls Holiday Village in the New Forest. The role is seasonal with variable hours, supporting the kitchen to deliver high standards of service and food quality.

You’ll help keep prep areas, equipment and floors clean, handle washing of utensils, receive deliveries, store ingredients and rotate stock, and assist with cooking tasks. Work alongside front of house to maximise margins while upholding safety and COSHH rules.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service with evidence of previous successes.
• Good written and verbal communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• A passion for food and hospitality.
• Resilience, energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• Level 3 Hygiene certificate and holiday sector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining clean and hygienic food preparation areas, equipment and floors.
• Washing utensils and dishes and storing them appropriately.
• Accepting deliveries, storing ingredients correctly and date rotating.
• Washing, peeling, chopping and cooking foodstuffs and assisting with menu items.
• Working with front of house and kitchen teams to maximise margins and minimise waste.
• Ensuring Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHH compliance.

Hours of work: Seasonal contract - Variable hours

What we need in a nutshell

We’re looking for a kitchen porter who can deliver delight to our holiday resort guests. You will be helping the kitchen team to run a safe, efficient and profitable food and beverage operation.

Who are we?

Sandy Balls Holiday Village is a world away from your day to day, with more trees than you can… well, shake a stick at. We have resident alpacas, a bush-craft school and forest laser tag, along with the usual holiday heroes of cycling and swimming. But New Forest holidays are also about tranquillity, which is why our Retreat spa and cosy, cottage-style lodges and caravans are here to help our guests unwind.

What you’ll be doing

You will be working in thekitchen ensuring guests receive a memorable experience through excellent service and food quality.

• Ensuring the food preparation areas, equipment and floorsare clean and hygienic.
• Washing utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately.
• Accepting deliveries,ensuring ingredients are stored correctly and date rotated.
• Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking foodstuffs and helping to prepare other items on the menu.
• Work alongside front of house and kitchen team tomaximise food margins andminimise wastage
• Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, Food Hygieneand COSHH regulations
