Job summary

Cathay Pacific Terminal 3 Heathrow Airport is seeking a Kitchen Porter on a casual basis. Rate of pay is £13.40 per hour. Role includes flexible shifts: 2 early / 2 late / 2 off, and it will become permanent once an airside pass is obtained. You must provide a 5-year checkable work history for airport clearance.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen porter experience is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of hygiene and food safety practices.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, and kitchen utensils.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Clean food preparation areas, kitchen surfaces, floors, walls, and storage areas.
• Remove waste and recycling in accordance with company procedures.
• Ensure all cleaning schedules and hygiene standards are consistently met.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required.
• Receive and store deliveries following stock rotation procedures (FIFO).
• Transport supplies and equipment within the kitchen as needed.
• Replenish cleaning materials and kitchen consumables.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures.
• Adhere to company health and safety policies at all times.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards, or equipment faults immediately.
• Wear the appropriate uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Organize storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Ensure stock is stored correctly and safely.
• Assist with stock deliveries and inventory checks when required.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness to company and regulatory standards.
• Support chefs and kitchen operations efficiently.
• Complete cleaning duties on schedule.
• Contribute to a safe, organized, and productive working environment.
• Previous experience as Kitchen Porter who has worked in busy and fast paced work environment.
• Calm and patient under pressure.
• Able to work within a very busy lounge and stressful environment.
• Demonstrative customer focus and service skills.
