Job summary

Another Place, The Lake is recruiting a Kitchen Porter to support our busy kitchen team. You’ll help maintain a clean, organised CPU kitchen, wash dishes, and assist in back-of-house tasks. The role may include shifts at The Glasshouse restaurant by the water's edge.

This position guarantees 16 hours per week with potential for more hours up to full-time, offering a flexible start in a stunning Lake District location.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean crockery and surfaces; maintain kitchen hygiene.
• Support daily service preparation and back-of-house tasks.
• Clean pots in the pot wash area and keep area tidy.
• Remove and replace waste and manage refuse/swing bins.
• Sweep floors and clean corridors and kitchen spaces.
• Assist smooth running of kitchen and back-of-house operations.
• Record waste using the hotel’s systems as required.
• Uphold high standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene.

Kitchen Porter – Another Place, The Lake | Kitchen | 16 hours, 2 days per week (minimum)

Offering monthly tips, free paddleboard hire, discounted meals and free team parking, all on the shores of Ullswater with one unforgettable view.

Our Kitchen Porter Role:

We’re looking for a Kitchen Porter to support our team.

You’ll help maintain a clean and organised CPU kitchen, wash and sanitise dishes, and ensure a smooth operation that everyone can take pride in, as well as occasionally completing shifts at our Victorian-style restaurant The Glasshouse, renowned for its wood-fired pizza down at the water’s edge. This opportunity guarantees 16 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours up to full-time.

As our Kitchen Porter you’ll be:

• Helping
  with any preparation needed for daily service
• Washing
  crockery, cutlery and ensuring that work surfaces are clean and tidy
• Cleaning
  all pots in the pot wash area, and maintaining cleanliness of the area
• Ensuring
  full refuse bags are removed and replaced promptly
• Ensuring
  that full swing bins are removed and replaced immediately, as well as
  clearing any spillages
• Cleaning
  the floor area daily and at the Chef’s discretion
• Sweeping
  and cleaning the corridors and passageways through the kitchen
• Assisting
  the smooth running of all aspects of the kitchen and back of house areas
• Maintaining
  an organised, clean and safe workplace for all
• Correctly
  recording all waste in the appropriate method
• Maintaining
  a high standard of cleanliness and personal hygiene to the standard
  required by the hotel and by law
• Carrying
  out other duties as required to the Executive Chef, Head Chef and
  Management
