Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd. is looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our team in Cambridge. The role supports chefs, maintains cleanliness, and helps ensure a high standard of hygiene across the kitchen.

You will work on-site in a year-round operation with a 7-day cycle (5 days out of 7). The position includes free on-site parking and other benefits as part of our friendly team.

Qualifications

• Experience in pot wash duties is advantageous.
• A good team player with clear communication.
• Ability to assist the Chefs with some food prep.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards at all times.
• Able to operate industrial dishwasher and clean equipment.

Job description

Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: 26436
Hours: 40 per week

A constituent college of the University of Cambridge oriented to mature students. Catering for 200 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of breakfast, lunch, evening meal, all day café and lots of high end hospitality. This is a year-round contract operating 7 days a week and work patterns will be 5 days out of 7. Additional benefits of this location is free on-site parking.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Cambridge.

You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
• Operate industrial dishwasher

We are looking for:

• Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Organisation Skills.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
