Job summary

Thomas Franks is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our busy school kitchen in Maidenhead. This full-time, term-time plus contract offers 37.5 hours per week and a salary of £20,018.25 per year, with on-site parking.

You will help keep the kitchen hygienic to high standards, support the chefs with prep, and ensure equipment is clean and well maintained. A friendly team, opportunities for training, and a strong focus on safety are part of life at Thomas Franks.

Qualifications

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage.
• Great team player.
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment.
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
• Operate industrial dishwasher.

Job description

Contract: Full Time , Permanent
Salary: 20018.25
Hours: 37.5 per week

An independent, co-educational nursery and prep school, educating approximately 400 children aged 2 to 11 years old. Located close to the centre of Maidenhead in Berkshire. Catering for 525 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of lunch, snacks, afternoon club and summer schools. There is some hospitality at this location. This is a term-time plus contract working 34 weeks plus 9 weeks over summer. This is a Monday to Friday operation and has additional benefit of free on-site parking.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Berkshire.

You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

We are looking for:

• Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Organisation Skills.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
