Cornwallis Care in Callington, Cornwall is seeking a part-time Kitchen Porter to support our catering team, maintaining hygiene and clean surroundings for residents. You will help ensure meals are prepared and served in a clean, safe environment.

No prior experience is required as full training is provided; we value reliability, a strong work ethic, and a respectful, team-oriented attitude toward residents and colleagues.

• Keep floors, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces tidy and hazard-free.
• Support the catering team with general kitchen duties as needed.

We're looking for a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our catering team and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen for our residents. This is a vital role that helps ensure residents enjoy nutritious meals in a hygienic and welcoming environment.

Whether you're an experienced kitchen hand or new to the role, if you're reliable, hard-working, and passionate about cleanliness but most importantly able to interact with the residents within our home.

Job Purpose

To support the catering team in maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring all meals are served in a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Clean kitchen areas, surfaces, and equipment thoroughly and regularly


• Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, and cookware


• Assist in setting up and clearing down the kitchen and dining areas


• Dispose of kitchen waste safely and in line with hygiene regulations


• Keep floors, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces tidy and hazard-free


• Support the catering team with general kitchen duties as needed
