Job summary

Cornwallis Care Services Ltd is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our catering team in a care home environment. You’ll help maintain a clean, safe kitchen and dining areas, ensuring residents receive nutritious meals with high hygiene standards.

No experience needed – full training provided. We value a caring, reliable, and team-focused approach, with weekend and bank holiday enhancements offered. DBS check and uniform are provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean kitchen areas, surfaces, and equipment thoroughly and regularly
• Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, and cookware
• Assist in setting up and clearing down the kitchen and dining areas
• Dispose of kitchen waste safely and in line with hygiene regulations
• Keep floors, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces tidy and hazard-free
• Support the catering team with general kitchen duties as needed
• Follow all food hygiene, health & safety, and infection control policies

Job Purpose

To support the catering team in maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring all meals are served in a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Clean kitchen areas, surfaces, and equipment thoroughly and regularly
• Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, and cookware
• Assist in setting up and clearing down the kitchen and dining areas
• Dispose of kitchen waste safely and in line with hygiene regulations

Pay Scale

• £13.00 per hour
