Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a Kitchen Porter in the United Kingdom to support the kitchen team in daily operations. The role involves basic food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards in a professional kitchen.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, catering or food service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the chefs with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Assist with basic food preparation, including salads and sandwiches.
• Wash dishes, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
• Keep the wash-up area clean and organised throughout your shift.
• Clean kitchen areas, including sweeping and mopping floors.
• Dispose of waste safely and responsibly.
• Work closely with front-of-house colleagues to ensure a smooth service.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the Chef or Head Chef.
