Job summary

Bob and Berts in Bury is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead the back-of-house, manage inventory, and supervise a small kitchen team. You will own the kitchen operations, including scheduling, menu development, and food safety, to deliver a high-quality customer experience.

The ideal candidate has hands-on leadership, a passion for great food and service, and the ability to work mornings and weekends. Prior experience in a cafe/restaurant environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage inventory, costings, and kitchen staff.
• Experience leading a kitchen team in a high-volume setting is preferred.
• Food Hygiene Certificate is required or essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations to ensure quick service and high-quality food.
• Prepare and oversee menu items, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
• Oversee stock, supplier orders, deliveries, and weekly stocktakes to minimise waste.
• Schedule and train kitchen staff for peak hours and efficient service.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and allergen management.
• Collaborate with management on menu development and specials.
• Coordinate with front-of-house to ensure smooth service.
