Slug And Lettuce Derby is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead the kitchen team, uphold high standards of food safety and quality, and foster a supportive, inclusive work environment.

You will coach and develop staff, manage stock and labour, and work closely with front-of-house to deliver great guest experiences across breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This permanent, full-time role is based in Derby, Derbyshire, United Kingdom, offering a competitive salary of £34,500 to £35,500 per year.

Qualifications

• Leadership and people management experience in a busy kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, safety, and quality standards.
• Up-to-date COSHH, Food Safety, Health & Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Hiring and onboarding of new team members with inclusive approach.
• Leading, guiding, and developing the kitchen team with ongoing training.
• Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
• Managing the kitchen schedule to ensure efficient staffing and cost control.
• Conducting regular stock checks to manage costs and meet targets.
• Collaborating with front-of-house to drive sales and guest experience.
