Job summary

Fodder is an award-winning farm shop and café celebrating the very best food and drink from Yorkshire. This hands-on role supports the kitchen and takeaway service as we grow our catering offer in Harrogate.

You will prepare, cook and present top-quality Yorkshire food during the day, liaise with the catering team, and help maintain 5-star hygiene standards while delivering friendly, efficient service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in producing top-class Yorkshire food during the day.
  • Cook and present food to a high standard in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with the catering team to communicate orders clearly.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and follow HACCP procedures.
  • Support events and occasional evening work as required.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations.

Purpose of the Role

This is an exciting time to join the Fodder team, as we look to develop and expand our catering offer. The ideal candidate will therefore have the initiative, drive and determination to succeed in the role, as we continue to grow. To assist in the overall daily operations of the kitchen and support Fodder takeaway, helping to ensure great quality food & service, by the catering team.

This role is ideal for someone who is wanting to strat their career in catering.

Working Pattern

40 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 operational days. Day shifts, no evenings.

The role offers a positive work-life balance, with Fodder closed on Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Key Responsibilities

  • This is a hands-on role to help with producing top-class Yorkshire food during the day whilst assisting in the smooth operations of a busy kitchen and to be part of a successful food service throughout the day.
  • Prepare, cook and present food to ensure consistent, high-quality products in a timely manner, which is the best of Yorkshire.
  • Liaise closely with the catering team, to ensure individual food orders are communicated clearly and the food service works seamlessly, from the kitchen to our customers.
  • To ensure that the pot wash area is kept clean and tidy. All pots/equipment are washed and cleaned, quickly and efficiently.
  • To carry out daily/weekly cleaning jobs, following a schedule to ensure a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen, keeping work surfaces, walls, floors and equipment clean.
  • Work alongside kitchen team members, in line with Society procedures and policies.
  • To ensure the Fodder HACCP plan is followed and to complete all relevant paperwork, to play a major part in maintaining 5 stars for food hygiene standards.
  • Follow and adhere to all health and safety regulations for Fodder.
  • Work with the catering team to execute successful events, which may include occasional evenings.
  • To recognise the importance of fairness and equality in the workplace, to treat everyone with dignity and respect.
  • To be an ambassador of the Society values.
